Around 80 people attended our recent meeting which was the Club’s Rotary Four Way Test Junior Speaking Competition heat. There were 11 speakers from six Primary Schools - Churchlands, City Beach, Floreat Park, Kapinara, Lake Monger and Wembley – and all speakers were of a high quality with very interesting topics. The winner was Sarah Coake from Lake Monger Primary School who spoke on the topic “Children Matter”. Sarah will now represent our Club in the Final which will be held at Safety Bay on 24th August 2023. The runner-up was Xavier Mollica from Kapinara School whose topic was “Supporting local business”.
Rotary International was represented by District Governor Ineke Oliver who presented our Club with a Rotary Citation for the past Rotary year. This was one of only 4 awarded to Western Australian Clubs last year.
Well done to Libby Larsen for arranging 3 Raffle Prizes which were all won by visitors.
Congratulations to all Rotarians who supported the evening as this was the most successful speaking competition held over the last 6 years.
