At our last meeting we celebrated our official Changeover Night at which the outgoing President and Board handed over the reins to the incoming team, and what a wonderful evening it was! It was very special to have many Members, Honorary Members, Partners and Friends present, and we had a handful of Guests too – our Past District Governor Ineke Oliver; Christine Tonkin, MLA for Churchlands; and Gary Mack, Mayor of the Town of Cambridge. Another Town of Cambridge Councillor was present, but she was there in her capacity as a Member of our Club – Cate Barlow. Also we welcomed Betty, our Exchange Student, who is returning home to the Czech Republic in a few days time. After a vibrant session of drinks and canapes in the foyer, we moved into the function room where the formal proceedings got under way. After the opening formalities Jeremy Wood proposed a Toast to Rotary International and Rotary Australia, and the Response was delivered by PDG Ineke Oliver. John Gartlan then said Grace. After a delicious main course outgoing President Frank Nathan presented his report, and it was amazing to hear about all the things that we have been involved with during the year. Frank then presented 2 Paul Harris Fellowships to Graham McHarrie & Jeremy Wood (see News above). The induction of incoming President Max Puddey followed, and Max gave his first address to the Club about what to expect in the coming year. Photos, dessert & coffee rounded off a fabulous celebration of Rotary!
